The Old Man

(I apologize for not posting on this blog regular. I hope to do it more often in the future.)

You sat on a cold iron bench, the cold crept through your big wool coat. You could hear the children playing in the snow in front of you. A small bittersweet smile formed on your lips as a yearning filled your heart, a yearning that you could rewind the years and take a place among those happy, careless children.
Pulling out a little notebook from your pocket you open it. Inside the pages were covered with your neat hand writing. You had begun to copy some of the woman's notes from the small cottage. You couldn't help feeling a tingle every time you read the notes. Your imagination flew off as you thought about the person and shaped a story about her in your mind. A voice breaks your thoughts.
"Good Morning!" You look up to see an elderly man with cheery eyes. "Mind if I join you?" You shake your head and begin to go back to the hidden recesses of your mind when he continued to speak.
"You like little notes like that?' You look up and see him staring at the little notebook.
"Yes I do." He hands you a folded up paper which you hungrily open and read it out loud at his request.
"Though I warn you it isn't much." He warns you.

Just like a breeze, she passed from one tree to another, awakening their soul, which had gone asleep down under.
The trees begin to stir and then to come alive, like they had in olden days.
They danced all around her, and their leaves brushed against her rosy cheeks.
They parted a way between themselves for her to pass beneath and sprinkled their blooms to form a royal carpet, and none could compare to it.
She passed beneath them in a gown of lovely green, her cheeks were all a fire and her skin a little paler.
Her smile was as if a ray of sun had fallen to her head, and her eyes were all aglow. Her gaze had fallen upon a royal sight...
