You felt the light growing darker. It startled you somehow, as if the time had fled away suddenly. You knew you must leave but...how could you? you had uncovered a magical place. You felt a fear within your heart, a fear that this was all but a dream, and when you woke it would be gone. You knew you couldn't take it with you, you had already gone too far and opened it. You reluctantly put the papers back inside the box and shut it. You tiptoed down the ladder and through this old house again. Promising yourself that you would come again, soon oh so soon. You wouldn't leave those papers to dust and ruin. When you came out of the cottage the light was so pretty, it made everything glow...making things so much prettier then they were. Recurring thoughts were in your mind, questions repeated over and over again. Words that could not disappear.
Street Lighter's Memories
As this darkness deepens, the lights go out. Along a lonely street a man walks, he lights all the lamps from here to who knows where.
His story is written in his eyes. His past he cannot disguise.
The lonely people walk these streets, late into the night they wander, far away from where they're made to be.
He passes as the night, to the sleeping grave yard, the owl hoots in a nearby tree, but nobody sees his tears, as he scrapes away the grass and leafs.
The grave stone tells the story, it happened long ago, but still haunts his mind. Full of past regrets, nothing left but tormenting dreams.
Oh where is peace for this tired soul? Where is release from this tormenting past, Oh where?
